The Guardian has recently written an article about the restoration of Branch Hill Pond in Hampstead Heath, which we had the honour of developing the proposal for in 2021. The project was focused on redeveloping the former biodiversity of the Heath, while also focusing on visitor activities. The pond is featured in John Constable’s painting ‘Branch Hill Pond, Hampstead Heath, with a Boy Sitting on a Bank’. It is fed by run off captured from the surrounding site but is ephemeral in nature, depending on levels of rainfall. Be sure to read the article to find out more about this fascinating and historic project.
