Project Objectives

The design proposals have been carefully considered to achieve an attractive, high quality development which will positively enhance and add to the existing context and natural surroundings.

Issues Challenges and Outcomes

The 3 Ha proposed site is located on the eastern urban fringe of Chalfont St Peter within the Green Belt and surrounded by mature woodland.

A Landscape Visual Impact Assessment, which was also was prepared by Arkwood, informed the design proposals for the site masterplan and the landscape strategy.

The sloping site offered a challenge to spatially arrange the facilities and circulation through the landscape. Using the level changes we designed terraced areas for the sports and outdoor classroom areas thus incorporating the design positively into the existing landscape.
