Arkwood has won the tender to develop a new masterplan and business plan for Sandwell Valley Country Park in north-west Birmingham.
Sandwell Valley is an extensive network of open spaces that includes five major water bodies, an RSPB Reserve, two working farms and a significant area of farmland together with facilities for sports, cycling and play.
Following Birmingham’s successful bid for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Sandwell Council wants to develop a new masterplan for Sandwell Valley, developing it as a gateway to the Birmingham conurbation and a visitor attraction in its own right, building on its considerable local reputation.
Working with Shared Assets, Arkwood will work with the council, its partners, stakeholders and everyday users to develop a new vision for the park that realises its potential as a visitor attraction providing a wide range of benefits and services for the region.
