We’re delighted to announce that we will be the leading design team for the Holly Hill woodland park delivery phase. Holly Hill is located in Fareham and was originally designed as an estate park and arboretum, with it now being a fairly sizeable and popular woodland, covering some 35 hectares. We will be setting out an in depth plan to improve conservation of historical features of the site, restore and protect the ancient and semi-natural woodland and multiple water features, and engage the community that uses the park by providing informal recreation and improved facilities.
Arkwood have previously worked with Fareham Council on delivering a new masterplan that set out to bring the woodland out of its state of disrepair by securing just under £1million from the NLHF. Part of the focus of the masterplan was on the restoration of the sunken garden which had lost much of its horticultural value, as well as the Pulhamite cascade which was in a considerable state of dereliction. This new delivery phase will see these changes brought to life and continue this historic park’s restoration and overall improvement. The Holly Hill Rediscovered masterplan will ensure that people can enjoy this unique woodland for many years to come.
