As a Towns Fund Project, Mansfield District Council has appointed Arkwood to deliver a masterplan and business plan for the revitalisation of Berry Hill Park in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Berry Hill Park has been and continues to be a place of celebration for the local coal mining history. Now home to the Mansfield Harriers Athletics Club, Berry Hill Park continues to welcome surrounding community members to its picturesque landscape.

In partnership with three long term collaborators, Erect Architecture, Counter Culture, and Huntley Cartwright, Arkwood aims to deliver a design scheme that focuses on play, connectivity and biodiversity. We will work to highlight the importance of ecosystem services that parks can offer post Covid and demonstrate how greenspace is essential in confronting the two twin challenges of the climate crisis as well as biodiversity degradation.

Berry Hill Park is a key open space asset for Mansfield, and we are looking forward to developing a proposal based on workshops and consultations with our client and local residents. In conjunction with the addition of a new community building designed by Erect Architecture, Arkwood aims to create a destination park for Mansfield and the surrounding communities.
