Our shortlisted project is the ‘Cambridgeshire Open Space Mapping and Standards’, which forms part of the Future Parks Accelerator programme funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the National Trust and the Ministry of Housing and Local Government.
As Cambridge’s population is predicted to grown significantly over the next decade, new standards are required for the quantity of provision, quality, and accessibility of publicly accessible greenspace. We have developed these standards for six districts with distinct greenspace portfolios across the whole of Cambridgeshire. Our newly-defined greenspace portfolio data has provided a baseline for a natural capital model that quantifies the value of ecosystem services flowing from current and future greenspace assets across the county.
